When he gets a job as a mechanic and then meets the beautiful Emily (Jordana Brewster), everything seems to change for the better for James (Hayden Christensen). His troubled past as a criminal is finally behind him. One day, however, his older brother Frankie (Adrien Brody) shows up on his doorstep, having been released after serving a ten-year prison sentence. James is anything but well disposed towards his brother, who is to blame for James' own conviction a few years ago. The younger man nevertheless reluctantly agrees to a demand from Sugar (Akon). It was thanks to the gangster's protection that Frankie survived his time in prison at all, and the latter now needs James' skills as a getaway driver and car tinkerer, as well as his knowledge of explosives. He can't refuse, otherwise he and his brother will be in trouble. However, the planned bank robbery does not go at all as originally thought and to make matters worse, the unsuspecting Emily is also targeted by the criminals...
